The Poem The shadow of the place we sleep
reaches out to touch the white,
and turns the silver of the deep
to bruised and copper light.
We watch the boundary softly blur,
a brief eclipse of what we know,
while down below, the oceans stir,
bathed in a fleeting, rusted glow.
