The Poem The first mud has not yet dried
before the sky darkens again.
A second shadow sits upon the hills,
and the salt-wet wood cannot heal.
We measure the space between storms
not in days, but in breaths.
The earth is too full to drink,
yet the clouds demand it open.
How do we rebuild a home
while the floor is still afloat?
