Long after the storm's name is forgotten, someone is still counting the days by the food going soft in a warm refrigerator.

The Poem The storm has a name we've already lost.
The crews came, then went elsewhere.
Fourteen mornings, the same cold coffee,
the same clock blinking a wrong hour.
We learned the weight of milk gone thin,
the long dark shape of a house at night.
News moves on like weather.
We stay, waiting for the hum to return,
for the small gods of light
to remember our street.
